Laboratoires d'Anjou commitment
After 15 years with l'Oréal, including seven with the La Roche Posay dermatology laboratories, Carole Foussé founded Laboratoires d'Anjou.
After working daily side-by-side with dermatology physicians in her professional life, Carole realised that skin, weakened by time (events and weather), treatments (medical, aesthetic, etc) or mistreatment, ends up, with age, with many imbalances.
These skin imbalances can have repercussions on body image and can be the source of psychological problems. All the more, as women and men today want to stay young and in good health longer. In fact, after reaching 40, more and more people are turning to aesthetic medicine.
Over 300,000 aesthetic medical procedures a year are carried out in France by dermatologists, aesthetic physicians and plastic surgeons. (17.3 million aesthetic medical and surgical procedures worldwide in 2009).
The 3 most common aesthetic medical procedures worldwide:
1. Botulinum Toxin 2. Hyaluronic Acid 3. Hair removal by laser
The 3 most common aesthetic surgical procedures worldwide:
1. Liposuction 2. Breast Enhancement 3. Blepharoplasty
In conducting her research, Carole also realised that classic cosmetics was content to offer people youth but without an overall vision of techniques for combating skin ageing and/or promoting facial beauty. Classic cosmetic techniques fail to address and integrate aesthetic-medical needs.
Thus, Carole Foussé, convinced of the importance of her project, decided to quit l'Oréal and focus on creating her own Laboratory dedicated to total Derma-Aesthetic Skincare.
A clue to how she chose the name of her Laboratory: The Anjou region is one of the regions in France where people live longest.
